Subsurface Drip Irrigation

Maximize water efficiency and improve yields on every acre

A sustainable irrigation option that delivers real ROI

Reduce water evaporation and improve your return on investment

Farmers have traditionally been limited to pivot or flood irrigation systems, resulting in several challenges including water runoff, evaporation loss, flat tires, and the inability to effectively irrigate oddly-shaped fields.

Meet subsurface drip irrigation (SDI). Using Netafim tubing, subsurface drip irrigation delivers water directly to the root zone with buried drip lines, virtually eliminating evaporation and ensuring every crop row receives the same precise treatment.

With subsurface drip irrigation, you can minimize weed growth, reduce herbicide usage, apply customized nutrients, and irrigate any field shape or soil type—without the maintenance headaches of traditional systems. SDI offers a modern irrigation system that gives you more control and peace of mind over your entire operation.

Achieve predictable yields year after year with a precision irrigation system you can rely on

Irrigate

Deliver water evenly across your fields at exactly the right time, ensuring every plant receives the moisture it needs to thrive.

Fertigate

Integrate fertilizers directly into your irrigation system at any point during the growing season, leading to healthier crops and reliable yields.

Conserve

Reduce soil erosion, water runoff, and fertilizer waste with an efficient irrigation solution that helps you grow more with less.

Don’t let another season go by worrying about the weather. A NutraDrip irrigation system gives you more control over your crop so you get predictable results season after season.

Get your system up and running with our simple and efficient installation process

Our streamlined installation process ensures your subsurface drip irrigation system is installed correctly and efficiently, giving you peace of mind from day one—all backed by our 1-year Workmanship Guarantee.

1. Pre-ripping and rock picking

Our crew arrives on site and uses a 3-point ripper with RTK guidance to pre-rip the ground based on where the drip tape lines will be installed. We also remove any rocks that might be in the way.

2. Tape staging

Next, we’ll deliver the pallets of drip tape so we’re ready to go when our installation crew arrives.

3. Plowing and wheel packing

During this phase, we install the drip tape approximately 10-16” below the soil surface using a 3- or 5-shank plow and seal the broken ground back up using a packing wheel.

4. Trenching

After all drip lines have been plowed in, we’ll dig a trench on the main line and flush line of the field to expose the drip lines that need to be connected.

5. Connections and risers

Next, we’ll place a large PVC line on both ends of the newly installed drip tape so grommets, risers, and flush valves can be installed to complete the system.

6. Backfilling

Once the riser connections and valve stations have been installed, we’ll carefully backfill the trenches, ensuring the drip tape is properly placed for an efficient irrigation system.
