Dig Deeper: How NutraDrip and Calibrated Are Taking Soil Health to the Next Level

April 17, 2025

If you’ve worked with us at NutraDrip, you know we’re always looking for ways to help you take the next step in managing your operation more precisely and profitably. That’s why we’re excited to be your gateway to Calibrated Agronomy—a trusted partner in agronomic sampling and interpretation.

We’re Your Face to Calibrated

Think of NutraDrip as your direct connection to Calibrated. When you’re ready to start soil and sap testing or dive deeper into agronomic insights, you’ll work through us to get the ball rolling. Calibrated is training us on their proven sampling protocols and data interpretation methods, and they’ll continue to support us behind the scenes with advice and product expertise.

So while Calibrated is the lab and science, we’re your boots-on-the-ground team helping you apply that knowledge directly to your farm.

Sampling Matters—And So Does Where You Sample

One of the biggest questions we get with rapid soil tests is: Where should we pull the sample from?

If you’ve installed soil moisture probes with us before, you know this well—placement matters. In drip irrigation systems, if a probe is placed halfway between two lines spaced 40 inches apart, it often won’t see the water because moisture and nutrients don’t travel far laterally. They stay in a tight band right around the emitter.

That same concept applies to soil sampling.

To get an accurate picture of what’s actually happening in the root zone, we need to pull soil samples close to the emitter, right in the active band where water and nutrients are interacting with the plant. If we sample too far from that zone, we risk missing the very thing we’re trying to measure.

We’ll be sending out a formal sampling protocol soon but keep that principle in mind—it’s not just about taking a sample, it’s about taking the right sample.

Pricing and What to Expect

We know cost matters when you’re trying something new, so here’s a quick breakdown of the sampling options currently available:

  • SAP Test (new and old sample combined) – $100/sample
  • Rapid Soil Test – $51.50/sample
  • Water Sample – $70/sample

(Note: These prices don’t include shipping or materials.)

In some regions, NutraDrip may be able to pull samples for you—depending on your location.

A Learning Group to Help You Interpret Results

Data is only valuable if you know what to do with it. That’s why we’re proposing a $750/year subscription to join a learning group designed to help you interpret your results and make smarter decisions with the data in hand.

We’re still gauging interest and finalizing the structure, but the idea is to create a small, focused group of growers who want to learn together and dig deeper (pun intended) into their agronomic data. Think of it like a guided masterclass—with real-world applications and the support of experts.

Why This Matters

Between precision irrigation, moisture tracking, and now advanced soil and sap testing, we’re building a full picture of what’s happening beneath the surface. And that’s where real gains are made.

If you’re ready to take this next step—or just want to learn more about what’s involved—reach out to us. We’re excited to go on this journey with you.
